Alfred A. Urban

Of Annandale, VA, son of Anthony and Anna Evelyn Urban and loving husband and father passed away on March 20, 2006 at age 70. Mr. Urban was born in Buffalo, NY in 1935. He graduated from the University of Detroit in 1959 with a BS in Aeronautical Engineering. Lieutenant Urban served in the United States Army and worked as a civilian for the Department of Defense for 39 years. Active in St. Michael's Parish, he sat on both the Collections Committee and the Finance Committee. His community service continued with sitting on the Board of Directors at Bishop Dennis J. O'Connell High School. Mr. Urban is survived by his wife of 42 years, Joan; daughters JoEllen Urban and Ann Marie Reid; son-in-law, Martin Reid; son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Courtney; daughter, Carolyn Urban; three granddaughters and two grandsons and several cousins.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the DEMAINE SPRINGFIELD ANNANDALE CHAPEL, Backlick and Edsall Roads, Springfield, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, March 29, 10 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 7401 St. Michael's Lane, Annandale, VA. Interment will follow in Fairfax Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Georgetown University Hospital Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center, 3800 Reservior Rd.
