CT scans are a valuable tool for monitoring cancer and cancer treatment. They do produce radiation. The following links are to some articles that discuss the risks and benefits associated with CT scans for pediatric patients.
Besides radiation, the other possible concern with frequent CT scans is the effect of the I.V. contrast material on the kidneys.
